Store Out of Direct Sun
Prolonged UV exposure can degrade HDPE over time. If outdoor storage is unavoidable, consider UV-protective covers or placing totes in shaded areas.
Don't Overfill
IBC totes have a fill line for a reason. Overfilling can cause pressure buildup, especially in hot weather when liquids expand. Leave headspace.
Close Valves When Empty
An open valve invites debris, insects, and contamination. Always close valves and replace caps when the tote is empty.
Rinse After Each Use
A quick rinse between uses prevents residue buildup and makes thorough cleaning easier when it's time. This is especially important for food-grade totes.
Inspect Before Filling
Check for cracks, valve leaks, and cage damage before filling your tote. It's much easier to address issues when the container is empty.
Stack Safely
Empty totes can be stacked up to 3 high. Loaded totes should only be stacked if specifically rated for it. Always check the stacking label on the cage.
