What Happens to Recycled Totes?
Reconditionable totesare cleaned, repaired if needed, graded, and resold. This is the best environmental outcome — extending the container's useful life.
Non-reconditionable totes are fully disassembled. The HDPE bottle is shredded and sent to plastic recyclers who pelletize it for use in new products. The steel cage goes to scrap metal facilities. Wooden pallets are chipped for landscaping mulch or composted.
Zero waste is our standard. Every component of every IBC tote we receive is either reused or recycled. Nothing goes to a landfill.

Frequently Asked Questions
We accept 275 and 330 gallon IBC totes in any condition, including pristine units pulled from food and chemical lines, beat-up totes with damaged cages, and totes with cracked HDPE bottles. Even unreconditionable units have value to us as raw material for the recycling stream.
Per-tote pricing depends on size, condition, prior contents, and quantity. Clean, food-grade A-grade totes earn the highest rates; damaged industrial units still receive a payout based on scrap material value. We provide a firm written quote before scheduling any pickup or drop-off.
Yes. Buyback orders of ten or more totes within our tri-state service area receive free flatbed pickup. We coordinate directly with your facility manager or shipping dock, hand over signed documentation, and pay on agreed terms after the totes are weighed and verified.
Non-reconditionable totes are fully disassembled at our Lexington facility. The HDPE bottle is shredded and sold to plastic recyclers, the galvanized steel cage goes to a scrap metal partner, and wood pallets are chipped for landscape mulch. We maintain a documented 100% material recovery rate.
No. We accept totes with residual liquids inside, provided you disclose what they previously held so we can handle them safely. Disclosing prior contents protects our team and ensures we route the tote to the correct cleaning or recycling line, which keeps your buyback rate accurate.
